MN GIS/LIS Conference Highlights

The 17th Annual Conference and Workshop of the Minnesota GIS/LIS Consortium will be held October 10 through 12, 2007 at the Mayo Civic Center in Rochester, Minnesota. Workshops will be held Wednesday, October 10, with the conference following on Thursday and Friday.


A combination of half-day and full-day workshops will be offered on Wednesday. Workshop participants can select from a variety of topics, ranging from general introductory issues to specialized technical challenges. Complete workshop information will be included in the conference registration materials to be mailed in July.

Conference Format

The conference will begin with a plenary session Thursday morning, followed by concurrent sessions and an awards lunch. Thursday afternoon will bring more concurrent sessions, followed by the poster session and exhibitors' reception. Friday morning begins with concurrent sessions, and includes a closing plenary speaker at lunch. 

Printed Proceedings

Copies of the printed proceedings, including session abstracts, will be distributed to conference registrants. Abstracts will also be published on the Consortium's website after the conference.

Exhibit Hall

The vendor exhibit hall will showcase the latest GIS-related hardware and software, GIS products and services. The exhibit hall will be open Thursday and Friday.

Exhibitor's Reception

Conference registration includes admission to the Exhibitors' Reception on Thursday evening. Hors d' oeuvres and refreshments will be served and a cash bar will be available. The reception will be held in the exhibit hall, providing another opportunity to visit conference exhibitors.

Registration information and workshop descriptions will be mailed in July. Conference registration includes lunches, evening receptions and all refreshment breaks.
