A new website provides a global display of terrorism and other suspicious events that have been covered in the news. Individual incidents are displayed by symbol, but can be labeled with a mouse roll-over, and event details are available by clicking on the symbol. See http://www.globalincidentmap.com/
The display operates in familiar ways. It starts with a global view that can be displayed as an outline map, satellite view, or hybrid. Panning and zooming operations are available.
Bus stations / bus security / bus-related incidents
Bridge / tunnel incidents and security
Shootings / sniper incidents
Terrorist arrests / captured / killed locations

Companion sites track Illegal Alien Activity and Amber Alerts in the USA.
Additional sites are promised for future release: Bird Flu and USA School Incidents.
The website says little about the nature of the sponsors. It says this free public service website was created by the publishers of www.TerroristWarning.com and www.TransitSecurityReport.com to give the public, law enforcement, military, and government individuals a new way to visualize and become quickly aware of terrorism and security incidents across the world.
While this website employs much automation, the news gathering itself is not automated – news items are located, reviewed, and manually entered into the database. They do not have adequate staffing so there are periods of each day when events are delayed in getting onto the map. See the FAQ section on the site for more detail on sources and selection criteria.
