The 23rd Annual Conference and Workshops of the Minnesota GIS/LIS Consortium registration in now open! Early registration ends on September 16th.

The Conference travels to Rochester, Minnesota and the Mayo Civic Center. The Thursday Keynote Speaker will be Will Steger, Will is an international renowned adventurer and environmentalist and will be giving a presentation on the changes that he has witnessed over his 40+ years of Arctic and Antarctic Exploration. Our Friday closing speaker is JJ Kelly, national geographic Filmmaker and Adventurer; JJ will be sharing the stories of his many adventures from kayaking in Alaska to traveling the length of the Ganges River.
This year, the Conference Committee is offering 12 workshops including 2 full day workshops. Register early as workshops fill up fast. The Session’s Committee is pleased to offer a great selection of presentations. Presenters from all over the state will offer a wide variety of GIS topics including Government, Environmental, Utilities, Web Applications, Mobile GIS and many more. Also, returning this year are the lightning rounds. There will be plenty of opportunity for networking and reconnecting with GIS colleagues.
New Expanded Poster Session!
Poster submissions are open again until October 1st, 2013. Abstracts must be submitted electronically
and will be considered through September 16th for the Presenter's rate. Posters received after September 16 may be accepted, but not eligible for a Presenter's rate. Poster submissions can be of any size, any type up to 4 foot by 8 foot.
If you are a student author (2013 graduate or later) you may select the "open student poster submission" to be judged in the open student competition for a $100 cash prize. Please make a note of your school name on the poster. Students must be registered at the conference and present at the poster presentation (5 - 6pm Thursday) to win.
Young Professionals Mentor Program
Please sign up to be a mentor for the Young Professionals mentor program at the Fall Conference. This is a popular growing program that matches early career students and professionals with the more seasoned of us for the purpose of making a contact, answering questions, and navigating the conference for the first time.

to sign up or for questions. Schools will be notified in early September to fill the mentee slots. But remember, you also don't have to be young or a student to be a mentee - any graduate of a GIS program 2011 or later will qualify!
A combination of half-day and full-day workshops will be offered on Wednesday. Workshop participants can select from a variety of topics, ranging from general introductory issues to specialized technical challenges.
The vendor exhibit hall will showcase the latest GIS-related hardware and software, GIS products and services. The exhibit hall will be open Thursday and Friday. Information on exhibitor registration is availablehere
Conference registration includes admission to the Exhibitors’ Reception on Thursday evening. Hors d’oeuvres and refreshments will be served and a cash bar will be available. The reception will be held in the exhibit hall, providing another opportunity to visit conference exhibitors. Registration information and workshop descriptions will be mailed in July. Conference registration includes lunches, evening receptions and all refreshment breaks.
Presentations by conference exhibitors that market specific products or services may be accepted as product demonstrations. Information regarding exhibit hall space will be mailed to prospective vendors in April.
