Silent and Live Auction Results

By Rebecca Foster, 2006 Auction Coordinator and Conference Chair Elect

New at this year’s fall conference was a Silent and Live Auction. It was an exciting opportunity to help raise money for our Mn GIS/LIS students and have some fun while doing it. Camaraderie amongst our conference attendees was pushed aside temporarily as bidding wars started immediately after the doors opened.

The Silent and Live Auction displayed 40 generous donations. Below is a “Thank You” poster listing all the donors and their donations. A special thank you to Charlie Parson who helped raised people’s blood pressure during the live auctioning of Minnesota Wild tickets, “growler of the month”, and an aerial imagery wall mural of the Minneapolis area.

The Mn GIS/LIS Consortium Scholarship Fund received $1,721 directly from auction income. These funds will be used to help future GIS/LIS students with their education and subsidize student conference attendance.

Stay tuned for the advertising details of this event to return at next year’s conference in Rochester.
