Mn GIS Speakers Bureau

By Will Craig, Mn GIS/LIS Board of Directors

The Board of Directors is considering development of a Speakers Bureau. Civic groups are starting to hear about GIS and want to learn more. Our members are doing great work, but often don’t get the exposure that would promote the value of our technology to society. The civic groups could range from a local service organization to a city council.

Is this something you’d consider doing? Talks could range from GIS in general to very specific applications. I suspect most civic groups would like a mixture of both. If interested, please contact Will Craig at wcraig@umn.edu. Depending on the response, this could become a major initiative of the Consortium.

This solicitation is not related to classroom presentations. Such presentations are very valuable, but beyond the scope of this request. Here we are talking about presentations to adults.
