Consortium Takes Stance on Governor's Budget Proposal
Governor Pawlenty's budget proposal calls for a 75% reduction in the budget for LMIC. This is the same stance he took in 2005. An outspoken GIS community was able to restore funding then, but only as one-time additional funding and not part of LMIC's base funding.

The Board also voted to ask its members to contact their legislators. This is a democracy and legislators respond to their constituents. The political strength of the GIS/LIS community is its broad geographic distribution and access to legislators. Please take action now.
