Strategic Planning Committee Report

The primary goal for 2008 of the Council’s Strategic Planning Committee is "to guide strategic developments in establishing a recognized coordinating entity for state government GIS, recognizing and including the state’s partners and customers."

The committee has been very active, and its efforts have led to two new efforts reported in this newsletter:

1. A new Drive to Excellence initiative focused on State Agency GIS Coordination. This initiative is expected to make its recommendations by this fall.

2. Formation of a new Stakeholder Workgroup of the Committee focused on representing local government and others who interact with the state.

For more information on the committee, see: http://www.gis.state.mn.us/committe/MSDI/
