WANTED: Silent and Live Auction Donations at Fall Conference
By Sarah Schrader, 2008 Silent Auction Chair

It’s almost summer and that means vacations, trips to the lake, and … time to brainstorm donation ideas for the annual GIS/LIS Silent and Live Auctions!

With your help, we raised $1,911 for the GIS/LIS scholarship fund in 2007 and our goal this year is to raise even more funds for this worthy cause. Donations are welcomed from businesses, user groups, and individuals. Also, because the Consortium is a non-profit organization with 501(c)3 status, your donation is tax deductible!

Although the exact details of the event (time, location at the conference, etc.) are still being finalized, it is never too early to start thinking about donations. Some of the items donated last year included: IPod Nano with a $50 Itunes gift card, leather padfolio, two-day training – Intro to ArcMap, wine basket, three-CD set of the Lazy Susan Band, Minnesota Wild Tickets, sixpacks of homebrew, Southern Living at Home® decorative vases, and much more!

Use your imagination and let’s have another great event this fall!

Anyone wishing to donate items can contact either:
