NSGIC Blog
By Will Craig, University of Minnesota

A good source of current GIS-related information is the NSGIC Blog. NSGIC is the National States Geographic Information Council, composed of GIS representatives from the 50 states. NSGIC has moved from its semi-annual newsletter to the Blog as a way to disseminate news quickly.

Recent stories include:

  • COGO’s official formation and election of officers. The Blog allowed us to present current information about COGO in this issue.
  • Dynamic visualization of spread of Walmart stores
  • State CIOs publish issue brief on GIS
  • Rock video featuring LiDAR
  • EPA asks users about data needs

You can visit http://www.nsgic.org/blog to view those stories and more. You can subscribe to the Blog if you think you are interested. Frequency of reports has been 2-6 per month.
