MN GIS/LIS Consortium Volunteers Needed

While board positions are elected, there are many opportunities for you to volunteer and make a difference, without having to run for office! In February, the board built their annual plan for 2009 at a full-day Strategic Retreat. In order to fulfill our goals, we have several committees that will need your help. Hopefully, something will be of interest to you that's listed below.

  • Coordinate Polaris and Lifetime Awards
Conference
  • Plan and execute a fun, educational and successful Fall Conference and Workshops scheduled for October 21st - 23rd in Duluth
 Education
  • K-12
  • Higher
Member Services
  • Member Database/Consortium Website
    • Review and improve our membership database capabilities
    • Maintain and add features to our website
  • Newsletter
    • Solicit, review, and organize articles for MN GIS/LIS News quarterly
  • Outreach
    • Expand volunteer opportunities beyond board
    • Promote existing services such as MN GIS/LIS Event Grants
    • Create a Facebook group page for the Consortium
    • Actively participate at other conferences
    • Create a Speakers Bureau
  • Salary Survey
    • Revise 2002 MN GIS/LIS Salary Survey for 2009

  • Organize Spring Workshops scheduled for May 21st in Arden Hills.
