Three New State Geospatial Standards Proposed

The Standards Committee of the Minnesota Governor’s Council on Geographic Information is working toward the adoption of three new state geospatial standards. Two of these proposed standards have been approved by the Committee in draft form and have completed a public review period that was previously announced through a Consortium e-announcement. They are:

The third proposed standard, which is still under development, is

  • Exchange of Digital Stormwater System Data

Workgroups for each of the standards are now addressing the comments and may revise the standard where appropriate. The revised standard can then be submitted to the Committee. If approved, the standard will be submitted to the full Governor’s Council for final approval.

Approved standards will be posted on the Office of Enterprise Technology website, with links from the Standards Committee website.
