Will Craig, UCGIS Fellow

The University Consortium for Geographic Information Science (UCGIS) acknowledges those individuals who have contributed to the advancement of geographic information science and technology by naming them as UCGIS Fellows. This is a new program, begun in 2010. Our own Will Craig was inducted as a Fellow in the second class on January 2011.

Will has been active in Minnesota’s GIS community since 1971 and was given our Lifetime Achievement Award in 1995. But he has also been active at the national level.  He has been president of three national organizations:  URISA, NSGIC, and UCGIS.  He has been a major force in the development of the GIS Code of Ethics and of Public Participation GIS. These items and more details are presented on the UCGIS Fellows Citation for William J. Craig.

Congratulations, Will!
