2006 Polaris Award Winners

The Polaris Leadership Award was established in 2003 to honor mid-career professionals who are guiding stars to the rest of us. Minnesota’s motto is L'Etoile du Nord, meaning "Star of the North." Polaris, the proper name of the North Star, is a triple star, and so we honor three leaders each year. Click here for more details on the award and this year’s winners.

This year’s winners are:

Christopher Cialek, Land Management Information Center

Chris has been Minnesota's leader in the development of data standards for GIS.

Joella Givens, Department of Transportation

Joella is a GIS leader in many arenas.

Steve Lime, Department of Natural Resources

Steve is Minnesota’s GIS professional with a global reach.
