MN GIS/LIS Conference General Information

Location: The conference will be at the Mayo Civic Center in Rochester, MN.

Meals: Conference registration includes lunch and refreshment breaks on Thursday and Friday, and the vendor reception on Thursday night. Workshop registration includes lunch and refreshment breaks on Wednesday. all conference and workshop attendees are invited to Wednesday evening's welcome reception.

Materials: Conference attendees will receive a copy of the conference proceedings, which will include abstracts for all presentations. Workshop attendees will receive workshop materials for each workshop attended. The information contained in this program should be considered preliminary and as such, could be subject to change in the final proceedings.

Continuing Education: Continuing Education/Professional Development: Did you know that workshop and conference attendance might help toward continuing education/professional development requirements? The Mn GIS/LIS Consortium has identified those opportunities listed below. This list is not meant to be exhaustive and is simply provided as a guide — all certification/professional development must be reviewed and authorized by the certification authority.

Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP) Credit: Conference and workshop attendance and instruction and Consortium involvement can contribute toward GISP points. For more information see:

Professional Development Hours: The Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience and Interior Design does not pre-approve courses and activities; however, to the best of our knowledge, these courses/activities meet the continuing education requirements outlines in MN Statute 326.017. American Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing Certification: Conference session and workshop instruction and/or attendance may contribute toward a variety of ASPRS certifications, including Certified GIS/LIS Technologist. For more information see:

Fees: All registration fees are to be made payable to Minnesota GIS/LIS. Payment can be made by check, Visa or Mastercard, or purchase order. Remember to register before September 14 to receive the lowest registration rate for the conference and workshops.

Registration: Please register for the conference by going to the online registration page. If you are unable to register via the website, please email us at or call the MN GIS/LIS office at 651-203-7242. Registrations must be completed prior to October 3, 2007 to be considered as preregistered. Registrations completed after October 3 will be considered walk-on registrations; payment or purchase order must be provided at the time of registration.

Refunds: With written cancellation notice, received by September 14, you will receive a full refund, less a $40 administrative charge. Cancellations after September 14 will not be refunded. Notices of cancellation must be faxed to the Minnesota GIS/LIS Office at 651-290-2266. No-shows at the conference will not receive refunds.
