2019 MN GIS/LIS Consortium Conference Abstract Submission

Abstract submissions are the foundation of the conference and early submission is appreciated.

The Sessions Committee will select presentations to represent levels of expertise and a broad topic base. Selection will be based on the value of the proposed topic to the audience and the quality and clarity of the abstract. Abstract submissions will be accepted until May 3, 2019.

The Consortium is particularly interested in presentations highlighting the following topics (however, any topic is welcomed):

  • Web, Mobile, and Story Maps
  • Open Data and Open Source
  • Remote Sensing and Drones
  • GIS Program and Data Management
  • Programming and Development
  • Environment (Natural Resources, etc.)
  • Transportation, Utilities, and Infrastructure
  • Accessibility and Usability
  • Education
  • GIS Leadership and Management

Are you new to speaking, or have an interesting short topic? Try the Lightning round — a quick, 12-minute presentation! The perfect intro to conference speaking, present work in progress, or give a brief overview, leaving the audience with a key point to remember.

Abstract submission:

  • Abstracts cannot exceed 300 words
  • Incomplete abstracts will not be accepted

  • Poster - General (Display area: 4 ft (height) x 8 ft (width))
  • Poster - Student (Display area: 4 ft (height) x 8 ft (width))
  • Project-specific and cartographic exhibits welcome
  • Web Applications – on touch screen display in exhibit hall
Please help the Session committee place you presentation in the correct track by selecting the description on what is the best fit for your presentation. 

Abstracts must be limited to 300 words. Remember, a clear concise abstract is your best ticket to a logical track placement and a well-attended session. To control word count and spelling errors it is recommended that you cut and paste from a Word document or attach your abstract in .doc format. In order to aid us in tracking these documents. Please add your last name into the name of your file.

Presenter bios must be limited to 50 words for each presenter. A bio is simply stating your name and other introductory information. A moderator will use this to introduce you prior to your presentation, giving the audience a little background information on why you are presenting the topic. Please place bios in the box (no resumes or CVs)
