MN GIS/LIS Polaris Leadership Award Winner

Brad Anderson
City of Moorhead (2019)

Brad has been a dedicated and innovative GIS professional for more than 25 years.  His work with the City of Moorhead and service to the geospatial community are shining examples of putting GIS and geospatial technology to work for the benefit of the community.

His contributions include:

  • Producing innovative GIS work for flood mitigation, response and protection in the Red River Valley
  • Serving for a decade on the Minnesota Geospatial Advisory Council (GAC), representing Greater Minnesota cities
  • Co-chairing the EPC’s Damage Assessment Standard Workgroup
  • Actively participating on the GAC Outreach Committee, working to promote free and open data in counties and cities
  • Consistent presenter at the Consortium’s Annual Conference
  • Presenting and assisting in Labs at universities in the Moorhead and Fargo area

Brad’s consistency, reliability, and tireless efforts to share his knowledge and expertise within and beyond the geospatial community make him richly deserving of a Polaris Leadership Award.
