Chris Pouliot

Chris Pouliot is a driver of innovation and leader in developing GIS tools and sharing his expertise with Minnesota’s geospatial community.  Chris’s contributions include:
  • Developing QuickLayers and a host of other tools to make DNR and other state government employees more effective
  • Authoring one of the most popular geospatial software utilities on the planet: DNRGPS – a product with extraordinary reach and impact
  • Serving on the Consortium Board, the Conference Committee and as the chair of the Sessions Committee
  • Delivering 20 presentations and 18 workshops at the GIS/LIS conference
  • Presenting regularly at GeoFest, a GIS educational conference for Minnesota educators
  • Teaching as an adjunct instructor at Gustavus Adolphus College
  • Participating in the AAG GeoMentoring program.
Chris’s passion for teaching and sharing has touched an incredible number of GIS professionals.  His leadership, positive attitude, and commitment to making GIS easier for everyone make him an ideal candidate for the Polaris Leadership Award!
