Stacey has been an enthusiastic and dedicated leader in developing new professionals in the Minnesota geospatial community.  Her contributions include:
  • Serving on the GIS/LIS Consortium Board since 2009
  • Chairing the 2010 conference
  • Serving as the Higher Education Representative on the Board from 2012-2013 and 2016-2017
  • Chairing the Scholarship Committee during a restructuring of the endowment, which was instrumental in sustaining the student scholarships as well as supporting new education initiatives.
  • Establishing and leading the conference “Student and Young Professional Mentor Program” since 2010
  • Leading the Northern MN GIS User Group, 2006-2011
  • Developing engaged GIS professionals through activities at the Geospatial Analysis Center, UMD.  75% of Stacey’s student employees who pursued GIS professions, remain in Minnesota.
As a result of Stacey’s leadership and contributions, Minnesota continues to build a high quality workforce of engaged GIS professionals. The geospatial community in Minnesota is stronger due to Stacey’s work over the last 15 years.
