Environmental Atlas of Minnesota: TrueNorth, Mapping Minnesota’s History: Minnesota Historical Society has an online mapping system that is linked to lesson plans and historical photos. Teachers can attend special training sessions or download lessons that meet Minnesota Social Studies standards.

Agriculture Curriculum: Food for Thought: The nine geography lessons and 33 black line master maps have been designed specifically to enable students to master the essential skill standards. The black line maps were designed for use on overhead projectors and also for use by individual students. The 4-color student desk map is designed so students have a personal map for reference and lesson activities.

Water on the Web: Water on the Web (WOW) is a project that allows high school and college students to monitor Minnesota lakes over the Internet. WOW integrates state-of-the-art environmental monitoring with geographic information systems, data visualization, and in-depth educational materials.

Mapping Minnesota: MAPPING Minnesota, a collection of nine geography lessons developed to incorporate selected maps from the Minnesota Historical Society's (MHS) exhibit, 'Minnesota on the Map:' Four Centuries of Maps from the MHS Collection.


MN Standards: Social Studies is the study of history, humanities and the social sciences. The purpose of studying these disciplines is to prepare young people to become responsible citizens and develop social understanding. Social studies standards and curriculum build four capacities in young people: disciplinary knowledge, disciplinary skills, commitment to democratic values, and citizen participation.

Lessons Warehouse: MAGE has a online warehouse have been developed through MAGE sponsored workshops and institutes. They are indexed according to the Minnesota Academic Standards in History and Social Studies benchmarks and also by topics/subject (grade levels)
